About Sara Girard

Sara Girard is a visual artist based in Maryland. Art has always been her passion — from her earliest childhood sketches to the paintings, pottery, and textiles she creates today. Her work is deeply personal, drawing inspiration from the textures, colors, and quiet beauty found in everyday life.

In 2026, she founded The Muddy Root as a way to share her creations directly with the people who love them. The name reflects her belief that art, like a plant, must be nourished from its roots — in craft, in place, and in genuine human connection.

Outside of art, Sara loves baking, chatting with friends over coffee, and finding joy in the simple moments that make life sweet.
